Quit the Habit of Underestimating Yourself

Quit the Habit of Underestimating Yourself

If you’re anything like me, you probably move from one goal to the next without stopping to celebrate how far you’ve come. You cross something off your to-do list and immediately start thinking about the next step.

You tell yourself:

“It’s done. What’s next?”

But that mindset is quietly robbing you of confidence, clarity, and joy.

Hustle is loud. Progress is often quiet.

As entrepreneurs, we pour our hearts into our work. We chase deadlines, refine offers, publish posts, and hold space for others. But when the task is done, we barely pause – we move on. We underestimate the weight of what we’ve just done. And when we do this again and again, we create the illusion that we’re not doing enough.

No wonder we feel stuck. No wonder we feel like we’re “behind.”

Try a “Ta-Dah List” (It’s Magic)

One small shift changed this for me, I started keeping what I now call a Ta-Dah List.

At the end of each day, I write down everything I’ve done:

  • Sent that tricky email? Ta-dah.

  • Posted a reel? Ta-dah.

  • Took a much-needed rest? Ta-dah.

  • Journaled, cleaned up your inbox, followed up with a lead? All ta-dah moments.

And suddenly, I could see: I am doing enough. I am moving forward. I just wasn’t giving myself credit for it. Try it. You’ll be surprised how much progress hides in plain sight.

Stop comparing, start witnessing

Here’s another trap we fall into:

We compare our behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight reel. Especially on social media. Especially when we’re tired. But your journey is yours. The pace, the path, the process — it’s all unique.

So next time you’re tempted to measure your success against someone else’s feed, pause. And instead, ask:

✨ “What have I already done this week that I can be proud of?”
✨ “What am I building — quietly, steadily, bravely?”

Celebrate progress, not just milestones

Whether it’s sending a newsletter, showing up on a tough day, or rewriting your About page — it counts. Don’t wait for the “big moment” to celebrate. Instead, celebrate the momentum you’re already creating. Every small step is an act of devotion. To your business. To your purpose. To your future self.

A gentle challenge for you

Before you close this tab, do this:

Write down 5 things you did this week, personal or professional, that brought you closer to your dream life or business.

They don’t have to be impressive. They just have to be real.

Let this be your reminder that:

💛 Progress is happening.
💛 You are growing — even if it doesn’t always feel like it.
💛 Self-appreciation is not ego. It’s nourishment.

You really don’t need to do more, just start recognising how far you’ve already come.
